Brothers plead guilty in massive dog hoarding case - Philadelphia Inquirer (blog)

Dog Daycare matthews,NC -
TREAT ON NOSE Let's teach your dog a trick that reinforces patience with food! Try the following steps to train the Treat-On-The-Nose trick! Brush up on your sit-stay before you attempt this trick. Your dog has to sit perfectly still to hold the treat! Start with a sit-stay directly in front of you while you sit in a chair. Their head should be slightly over your lap. Put one hand under the dog's head and raise its nose to a position that is level to the floor. Place the treat on the flattest part of their nose. While you gently rest their muzzle in your hand, alternate praise with the phrase "Hold It!" in your command tone. After a few seconds, release him, praise him, and let him flip the treat off his nose and eat it. Repeat this process five to ten times per day for several days. As your dog begins to hold their own head steady, begin to remove your hands from their muzzle to let them do it alone. Some dogs will drop the treat on the floor and pick it up. Others will flip it into the air and catch it. If you desire the flip method and your dog is a "dropper", immediately command them to "leave it" if they drop it. Let them take it if they flip it. With consistency, this will condition the dog to flip it. If they do not catch it on the first flip, praise the effort with "good dog!" so that they do not give up. When they do catch it, praise vigorously!

Romney VP Ryan Roll Out on a Saturday Morning?

News has broken that Mitt Romney will announce his Vice Presidential running mate on Saturday morning around 9 am eastern standard time in Virginia.

First of all I have to say this is the worst roll out of a VP announcement. To do it on a Saturday at 9 am est. is a PR mistake. The Olympics are in its final weekend and half of America will be sleeping. Romney should have waited until Monday and could have received wall to wall coverage on all the major news networks. The Sunday political shows are probably scrambling to rebook, but that's about it. By Monday, it might be the third or fourth story at the beginning of the hour. So, Romney will lose any VP steam by Monday morning in our 48 hour news cycle Americans and networks have become accustomed to.

Second, if rumors are true that Romney picked Paul Ryan as his running mate Obama will have a cake walk on election day. Joe Biden will surely decimate Ryan in the VP debate(s), especially when it comes to the "Paul Ryan Budget Plan". Ryan is too inexperienced, naive, and too young to be a step away from the Presidency.  He wants to raise the age of Social Security from 65 to 67 and cut Medicare. I equate him as a male version of Sarah Palin. Romney is obviously pandering to the extreme right also known as the Tea Party. Romney hopes these voters will come out and vote for him.

In turn, Romney will lose the Independents, senior citizens, and moderate Republicans. Ryan is a loose canon and Romney will be unable to control him, just like Palin. Ryan will be the yes man to everything at first, but as he gains more media attention he will act like he is the center of the show. We have seen it before folks.

Romney wants an attack dog to sick on Obama. Ryan is a good choice because he has attacked Obama plenty of times. Although, we all know that attack dogs can easily turn on their owners and that is what I foresee with Ryan. Ryan loves the limelight and pushing the President's buttons, so this will be make for great political theater and interesting headlines.

On the message boards I have read nothing but more support for Obama, especially for the Undecideds and right leaning Independents. I see maybe a two point bump for Romney for about three weeks and a few million extra dollars in fundraising, but after that you will see Obama's numbers go up. The debates will be exciting for political junkies, like myself, but the typical average American will not even waste his or her time.

Nobody wants to go back to the George W. Bush era or the 1950's for that matter. This country wants to move forward and only Obama and Biden can do that.

As for me, I will be sleeping at 6 am pacific standard time. My eyes might slightly open when my phone buzzes like crazy with push notifications from all the news apps I follow, but will quickly drift back to sleep and have sweet dreams of Obama's reelection.
